COSMOS (COSMetic Organic and Natural Standard) is the European reference for organic and natural cosmetics. It governs the whole chain: ingredient sourcing, manufacturing processes, the absence of controversial substances, environmental impact and packaging. It is not a label you grant yourself — you earn it, after assessment by an independent body.
In practice, this means:
- ingredients of natural origin, from organic farming whenever possible;
- no silicones, parabens or needless petrochemical ingredients;
- vegan formulas, with no animal-derived raw materials;
- complete transparency about what you put on your skin.
